The Touchstone Foundation recently led the first “Moment to Breathe” session for the new school year. The event, held on August 21st, marked a successful restart for the program, which provides a safe and supportive space for parents. The session was co-sponsored by the Community Action Partnership
Shanece Bowman, Programs Manager at The Touchstone Foundation, reports “This year’s program promises to provide essential resources, support, and meaningful discussions, ensuring a valuable experience for all who participate. The turnout was impressive, with sixteen parents and about twenty children attending.”
The first session served as a meet-and-greet, allowing participants to get to know one another and familiarize themselves with the calendar of events for the school year. As a lead facilitator, Shanece was also able to work with the parents to identify interests. She now has the information she needs to schedule topics, book expert speakers, and identify resources to be featured in future sessions.
Due to the popularity of the program, the “Moments to Breathe” series is currently at full capacity, and registration is closed. However, those still interested can join the waitlist by contacting Shanece via email at sbowman@touchstonefound.org for details.
