Welcome, Kelsie: A Passionate Advocate and Creator of Meaningful Moments
We’re excited to introduce Kelsie Choate, our summer Programs Intern at Touchstone Foundation! Currently pursuing her Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree at Millersville University, Kelsie brings a dynamic blend of professional drive, life experience, and heart to our team.
Balancing life as a full-time Pennsylvania Air National Guard Financial Management Technician, college student, and proud wife and mom of four, Kelsie thrives in what she lovingly calls “organized chaos.” Whether she’s cheering from the sidelines at hockey and soccer games, crafting at home, or camping with her family, she finds joy in making meaningful moments—and now, in supporting youth mental wellness.
Once introduced to Touchstone Foundation’s mission, Kelsie saw an opportunity to apply her studies in a meaningful way and contribute to the development of impactful programs. “Interning at Touchstone has opened my eyes to the power of macro-level social work and how community-based efforts can transform outcomes for youth,” she says. With long-term aspirations to reform the juvenile justice system and reduce recidivism, she sees early mental health intervention as a crucial step in preventing deeper system involvement.
Her advocacy is deeply personal. “I’ve seen how untreated mental health challenges can affect long-term success. That drives me to support not only individual well-being but also lasting systemic change.”
This summer, Kelsie will contribute through research, data analysis, and community engagement, helping us strengthen programs that meet real needs in Lancaster County. She’s excited to see how this work can influence long-term change, and we’re grateful to have her energy, insight, and lived experience on our team.
Welcome, Kelsie! Your presence makes Touchstone stronger, and we’re thrilled to walk alongside you as you help shape the future of youth mental wellness.
