We are pleased to welcome Jeanette Scott to the LOHF team as as our part-time Executive Assistant. Jeannette has worked in both the public and nonprofit sectors and has a background in journalism, administration, leadership and life coaching. She comes to use from her most recent employment as Life Coach at Water Street Mission, and continues to maintain a private coaching practice.
What attracted you to the mission at LOHF?
I am deeply passionate about mental wellness. In my work at Water Street Mission, Bridge of Hope National, pastoral ministry, and even as a journalist, I have seen first-hand the barriers to behavioral healthcare access and the consequences, especially for children and adolescents. So when I learned what LOHF is doing to increase provider capacity and to support frontline programs reaching children, I instantly wanted to be a part of it. In my new role here, it feels like my prior experiences and skills are coming together in harmony to contribute to something I really believe in.
What is the most exciting thing you have encountered since starting at LOHF?
I was thrilled to see the Teen Hope program in progress at Pequea Valley High and hear from the program staff during our recent site visit. I’m also excited about NavWell and its potential to significantly improve services for children locally and even nationally. These impactful innovations are taking place in my own backyard, which is incredibly inspiring! I am honored to join this incredible team.
Give us a few fun facts about yourself.
Well, I have several happy places. The first is anywhere that I am hanging out with my husband Bob and our grown son and daughter. The second is my sewing room, as I am an avid quilter. And the third is hanging out for hours with a friend or two in a coffee shop, bookstore or my neighborhood quilters’ shop. I’ve also authored three books and the biggest fish I ever caught was a 7-foot, 110-pound blue marlin. I’ve travelled abroad quite a bit, leading short term mission teams and supporting missionaries with coaching and communication. And I prefer dogs to cats. The bigger the dog, the better.
