By Shanece Bowman, Programs Manager

This post is second in a series on mental healthcare services in Lancaster County.

In these difficult times it is often hard to know where to turn to for resources. The feelings of grief, loss, and frustration are ever present. Please know that LOHF is here to offer support to all members of our diverse community. Below are some resources specific to our Spanish-speaking residents.

Mental Health Treatment and Referrals

Dial 2-1-1 anytime and be connected to someone who can offer information and referrals, including referrals for trauma-informed mental health providers. Or, you may view these resources online at www.pa211east.org. Here are just a few of these providers: FOCUS Counseling Services, LLC, (717) 459-4184; Commonwealth Clinical Group, (717) 393-3900; and Nuestra Clinica at SACA, (717) 431-1445.

SAMHSA’s National Helpline provides referrals to treatment facilities, support groups, and supportive community organizations. Call 1-800-662-4357 for confidential, free, 24-hour service in English and Spanish for persons experiencing mental illness or substance use disorder, and their families.

Emergency Intervention

The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is available 24-hours a day, for assistance in English and Spanish. Call 1-800-273-8255 if you or someone you know are struggling.

Crisis Intervention is available if you or someone you know are experiencing a mental health emergency. Call (717) 394-2631 immediately. This local, 24-hour mental health emergency service can help with any mental health crisis including anxiety, depression, and suicidal or homicidal thoughts.

If you suspect abuse or neglect, call PA ChildLine at (800) 662-HELP (4357) immediately. Your report will be confidential and investigated appropriately.

School-Based Services

Autism Solutions at IU13 provides evaluations, therapy, and behavioral consultation. They create individualized treatment plans for children, teens, and young adults. They also offer training and workshops for agencies. Call (717) 947-1799.

The School District of Lancaster’s School & Family Resource Specialists offers home visits, individual or group therapy, parent support, and referrals. Specialists can also help children heal from trauma.
