Touchstone Foundation Seeks Local Artists to Facilitate Workshops at the Rise Above Youth Summit
Lancaster, PA — Touchstone Foundation is excited to announce a call for local artists to lead creative workshops at the 2025 Rise Above Youth Summit, taking place this summer from July 14th through July 31st. This unique event provides high school students with opportunities for self-expression and emotional exploration through art while fostering conversations about mental wellness.
The Foundation seeks 12 versatile and experienced artists who are passionate about empowering young minds. Artists should have a strong background in facilitating youth art programs and the ability to develop structured, engaging content. Workshop sessions will be 90-120 minutes and may span two days. Collectively, the selected artists will present a variety of artistic mediums, with each artist focusing on their specific area of expertise.
Workshop Topics May Include:
- Self-Reflection & Emotional Exploration
- Poetic Free Writing & Affirming Poetry
- Story Illustration & Graffiti Art
- Music Production & Playlist Building
- Creative Writing & Journaling
- Other topics are welcome.
Artist Application Requirements:
- A short bio and professional headshot
- Proof of experience creating youth-focused art curricula or workshops
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Certification and State Police Criminal Record Check
- Detailed list of materials and supplies needed for workshop sessions
- Description of how your workshop connects art and mental health themes
Why Participate?
- Selected artists will help students engage in meaningful conversations about mental health, discover new creative outlets, and gain essential life skills.
- Touchstone Foundation will provide competitive compensation for all selected artists, including purchasing supplies and materials necessary to complete the session.
- All selected artists will receive mental health training
- Selected artists may be invited to additional training on becoming a mentor for young people.
Compensation & Benefits:
Facilitating artists will receive a $200 stipend plus materials necessary to facilitate their contributions to the session.
Artists will also gain access to free mental health training throughout the year, including Youth Mental Health First Aid, trauma-informed care training, and child abuse prevention. Those interested may have opportunities for additional mentorship training to further support young people beyond the summit.
