Understanding how trauma shows shows up in children and how it affects them throughout their childhood is a cornerstone to getting the proper care needed. Here is a non-exhaustive list of ACEs resources.

Trauma 101: This free online training from Penn Medicine LGH centers around trauma, resilience, and trauma-informed care, and provides a foundational understanding of trauma, Adverse Childhood Experiences, resilience, vicarious trauma, self-care, and trauma-informed care.
Let’s Talk Lancaster funded Trauma 101 community trainings to begin to accelerate the movement and raise awareness related to the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences. This course provides participants with the ability to define and describe trauma, compare factors for risk and resilience, recognize the ways in which community agencies and organizations may re-traumatize those they intend to serve, and recommend improvements to policies and procedures to make them trauma-informed.

National

This website provides an overview of ACEs from the results of the CDC-Kaiser Adverse Childhood Experiences Study and provides some additional resources to learn more about ACEs. This resource also contains information about positive childhood experiences (PCEs) and their effects on children and adults.
ACEs Connection is a social network that supports communities to accelerate the global ACEs science movement, recognizes the impact of adverse childhood experiences in shaping adult behavior and health, and promotes trauma-informed and resilience-building practices and policies in all communities.
